Day 5-6: Malcesine

In planning Europe, we knew we wanted to go to Malcesine right away. I can't remember exactly how we found it...probably Trip Advisor. But from the pictures we were really drawn to a huge body of water surrounded by mountains and little hotels that lined the water. It was seriously so cool to see in the pictures, so we wanted to go for ourselves and we were the most excited about this location when we first started planning. Cant really explain why, being that we didn't do a whole lot here except visit the little town/shops, layout, and eat. But it was nice. Anyway.

It was quite a doozy getting to Malcesine because we had to take a few different buses that were hard to find and I remember running to one of the buses because it was scheduled to leave at a specific time and we were about to miss it. So we did run with our huge backpacks on looking like complete dorks but we made that bus and were on our way.

 Once we got off the bus, it was a struggle finding our hotel. And we went up and down the exact road it was supposed to be on and not finding the hotel, I decided to walk into one of the restaurants there on the waterfront and ask if they knew where Hotel Gabbiano was. The guy spoke very little English, but said "US! We!". We got super lucky because there were hundreds of different hotels and restaurants and we happen to ask the right place!

We found this hotel off of hotel.com and the rate was SUPER cheap for being water front with a nice deck. We shared the deck with someone, but that was no big deal. The only thing that was a bummer was the mosquitos. And they love my legs. Must be because they are juicy haha.

After getting settled, we went into the town and walked around, looked at the little shops there, the castle was amazing--making the pictures super KEWL. For the two days we were there, we laid out by the water and read or walked around the cool little town. We also loved exploring the local markets, which was our special way of saving ALOT of money while we were there. I'm pretty sure Malcesine is where we bought our TIIIINNYYY little jar of Nutella for like $6 or something. We carried it with us everywhere and ate it with bread if we got hungry so we could keep exploring. Anyway. There's honestly not much to say about this place, though it was beautiful, it was a short little stay with not much to do.

SERIOUSLY....the view from our hotel room was this at night. The sunset was amazing! We had to keep our doors open as much as possible. 

Our attempt at a selfie before we started exclusively using the GoPro Selfie stick for all things. This just wasn't doing it for us. Hahah, but we tried.

Next stop: Verona, Italy!
